Reenie is one of India's first female singer and songwriters, who combines simple, real and emotional lyrics with some very catchy, sweet and haunting melodies! This young and talented artist resides in Mumbai, but spent a major creative part of her life in New York where she teamed up with one of America's top producers to develop and form her debut solo album release.
Reenie's musical and lifestyle journey, which includes all kinds of varied experiences came full circle with her debut album recently released in India through HMV Saregama, India's oldest and most reputed record label. This album was simply entitled "Reenie".
She is THE first artist to properly fuse the musical influences of East and West on a top quality HINDI sung project. The album is produced by New York's R&B and dance guru David Anthony, who has worked with the likes of Beyonce, The Pussycat Dolls, Janet Jackson, Teddy Riley, Babyface, Aaliya and Busta Rhymes to name but a few.
Coming from a musical family and particularly a Father who is a classically trained musician himself, Reenie soon caught the bug to follow in her Father's footsteps but with her very own clearly defined style.
A truly international artist, Reenie spent the Summer of 2007 on the road in the UK touring the World renowned "Mela" circuit performing to big crowds with the highlights being at Manchester and Cardiff Melas respectively to a combined crowd of over 40,000 people! Her songs have been making waves on international Asian radio stations for some time now and she has been topping the charts on desihits.com with her song "Hey DJ".
Having established a Worldwide fan base through winning the category as "No.1 Female Vocalist" for the Desihits.com Global Artist of the Year poll in 2007/2008, Reenie is set to launch her English singing career in the UK in 2009 with a debut Middle-Eastern influenced smash called "Addicted" which she co-wrote with Britain's No.1 Asian producer with the biggest mainstream success to date, Mushtaq. He is currently producing the brand new album from the World's biggest selling artist, Amy Winehouse.
Addicted will be released this Spring in the UK so watch out for the arrival of a lady who is coming to introduce herself to the UK audiences. We've had the boys with Jay Sean and Raghav so it's about time the ladies had a true ambassador! Reenie fits the bill perfectly!
